I like it how Muslims learn meditation at very young age, in the form of roza. my roommate Asma, she's an excellent meditator teaches me different ways of meditation everyday. I'm very lucky and more than happy to have her as my roomie.

Whoa! The website has quite changed and the red warning up right looks really bad.

Anyway I had exam for a week and then I was back in my schedule. I learnt Osho's and Tao's some of the meditation techniques. Amazingly, the actual goal behind doing meditation is just not achieving peace of mind but to control our mind so that we can put our energy only in positive direction. Moreover whenever we want to stop our mind from thinking we can do it.

Previously I was doing it for 20 minutes, now its 30 complete minutes and I can actually see a good effect of it that I don't get bored in my classes even if I don't like the subject also No matter how much I read I never get tired. Finished 4 books in a month that too in my regular schedule of 7 hours in college. I'm certainly saving some energy for good work. Though, for complete control of mind a long way to go. With lots of reading my mind seem to have getting lots of brain exercise and that sometime kills my sleep.

Among those four books one of very fine books of Osho I read is Joking Around. Quite nice for spirituality with revolutionary thoughts and ideas. That's where I learnt the actual purpose of meditation.

Hoping to change the color of the ring soon and with that enhancing my practice of meditation.

How has your meditation been lately?
Are you able to follow your goal? :)

It was tough for me to follow it everyday, but I'm preparing a fun thing in relation to the meditation that I'll share once I accomplish it :)

Are thoughts the most mobile things of all? Had they been
very productive, humans would have gained what we'll have
after next two centuries. :p
Anyway meditation twice a day, I think it's the best I can
indulge myself into.
Here's what I ended up with last night. Staring at the
beautiful moon with a ring around it. It's more than just
beautiful.

I also found it extremely difficult to keep my head empty of any thoughts. My yoga teacher told me to start practicing with open eyes by concentrating myself on an object. This should be easier for beginners as we need something to focus on. I tried a very simple technique by using the flame of a candle as the object of the meditation. It is important to find a peaceful and quite place, where you will not be bothered by anyone. What I do is just looking at the flame until I become relaxed and calm. Sometimes the experience is really nice and I am able to switch off for some time, sometimes it is not easy at all :)
I think the important thing is just to keep trying on regular basis and not to get frustrated if it doesn't work from the first time.

Here one article on the topic :)

It took me a couple of months to start meditating without having any thoughts. I was doing that in the morning / evening. It is easier in the morning, just after waking up, as you don't have the excitement of the day before you, AND it is harder to fall a sleep.
