These are the products responsible for keeping my skin young and firm. Or at least this is what they are supposed to do. The total value of them is approximately 300 EUR. Even if I am not using all of them on a daily basis, still this is quite big amount of money. And this simple calculation is not even taking in consideration all the products, like make up and perfumes. The most of them are labeled as "bio" or "natural", so my assumption was that they should be clean of chemicals or other toxic ingredients. Let's take a closer look.

First off, Buddy Guy is an angel sent from heaven! He is truly a magnificent man!

Over the years I've attended a number of concerts, where bands from different genres impressed with their unique character, yet none of them came even close to what Buddy Guy did on the stage tonight.

For me the man has two faces - the old grumpy man who shoots orders at you with a strict voice that roars respect somewhere deep from his chest - the second is a humoristic twenty-something voice that fools and teases the crowd while the body plays an almost stand-up comedy show. Ok, ok there is a third character - the romantic one, or the story teller - a true bluesy deep voice that rips open the heart and pulls out the listener's soul. Exceptional man!

As to my seat - I was seated at a balcony just above the stage. Massey Hall has one of the best acoustics, hands down. Also the atmosphere is intimate, people are engaging into communication with the performers, cracking jokes etc... Definitely this concert was one to remember. It is incomparable to anything else and I hope to attend next year if he comes to town (he comes every year for the past 10 or so).

Oh, one more thing... Buddy played not only his great songs but also - Hendrix, Clapton, Muddy Waters, Marvin Gaye the list goes on ... I think the crowd could easily listen to two more hours. In addition his band was excellent! The keyboardist did a couple of insane solos. Bassist, drummer, guitarist, well, everyone was spot on onto every gesture that Buddy, like a conductor, requested.

Young Jonny Lang played a couple of really nice solos (didn't sing at all) he is definitely talented (brilliant) but his presence was shadowed by Buddy even though the later was hands down when Lang showed of his skill with some lighting fast moves. Lang is very emotional and he feels the music. Definitely interests me to see his performance in the future.

It's almost February and my progress has been severely hampered by the string of extremely cold weather which has kept me away from the rink. That being said, last session yesterday was very productive. I'm beginning to understand what it mean to use both edges of the blade.

Next steps:
1. Need to work on my balance, stability and smoothen my motion. I can probably do balancing and lower-body strength exercises indoors
2. Also continue to learn hard braking by watching others and fearlessly expirementing.

Ordered a sample of business cards from Moo. Need to test how the logo turns out for my cards. This online route isn't pleasing for me. I'm a stickler of accurate colour, sizes, and alignment... which means I must find a local shop:

1. Finalize the beta design of my cards. Get the fonts, alignments and proportions firmed down by printing proofs and size tests
2. Find a Toronto-based business card company that produces cards with the highest quality.
3. Work with this company to optimize the for-print colours of my logo ... Need to proof, etc.

I just saw two more movies.

The nicest person that I know (1973) (not sure about the title's translation).
A great movie which tells the story of a couple that moves to a new city. The woman is a teacher but to her surprise she is appointed to teach adults in a "technical school" (night school for factory workers). The story perfectly portrays the lifestyle of blue-collar men at that time.

The last bachelor (1974)
The last bachelor tells the love story of an old bachelor, who falls is love with a young lady. The differences in their class is the main concern for the family, which tries to break their relationship and a possible marriage.

I enjoyed the first one more than the last bachelor. Still, they are both great movies.

I finished the book a few weeks ago but didn't have the time to write a review.

All in all, I'm a fan of Gladwell's writing. I enjoyed his point of view on the topic of "battle of the small against the big" but overall it felt very repetitive. At some points I would imagine that there are a ton of references against his findings. For instance he describes how being Dyslexic teaches you how to fight for everything in life more than other people. That seemed fine till the point that the reader starts questioning whether he wishes he had Dyslexia.

Overall the book is a good read, there is a lot of info on a couple of topics, but it is far from being Gladwell's best book. Anyways if you haven't read anything from him I strongly suggest Outliers.

I just found about this laboratory in Minneapolis. It claims to be the quietest place on earth! THe record for staying in the quite room is 45 minutes which was accomplished by a reporter. It is said that you can get hallucinations just after 15minutes of sensory deprivation. Apparently ears adapt to the silence and eventually you start hearing your heartbeat, your lungs, etc... This is extremely interesting and I hope to visit the lab one day.

I was very happy to find this fortunenote in the ideas bank.
Last year I participated to an initiative called "Christmas in shoebox". This is a project where people can prepare a Christmas present for a homeless child. The presents are simply packed in shoe boxes and every year go to different country. You can participate with as many cartons you wish and can choose your present by your own. The only think you need to do is indicating the gender and age scale to make your present usefull.
And remember, charity should not only be connected with big initiatives and projects, as sometimes the small things matter more :-)

Bungee jumping is deffinatelly on my bucketlist! I was currently looking at some pictures of the Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa (Western Cape Town)! Bloukrans Bridge is the worlds highest commercial bungee jumping bridge. Interesting fact is the Guinness World Record held by Mohr Keet who is the oldest person to bungy jump at the age of 96 (6 April 2010)!

Do you remember that time when your partner was dumb enough to kiss a random girl/guy while you were around? Ok, forget about that story. Think about some random person that harasses you in the bar. There are two ways to cope with that… be nice (preferably) and talk the guy/g’al away, or be a wild drama queen and create the most epic show that he/she will experience. If you are not that type of person, but still want to do it this as a prank… why not make a scene out of it with your friends. Take a glass and just throw the drink in your friend’s face when no one is expecting, of course you need to act cool about it (and your friend). That will most definitely get the attention of everyone. You can tell them that it was a joke of course and just continue having fun by wining the hearts of everyone at the bar. Take care when you are throwing THE DRINK, not the glass and make sure that the person will react in a somewhat acceptable way. Don’t just go throwing drinks at random people in bars! Remember to prepare your phone or camera so you can upload it to fortunenotes and mark the challenge as achieved 

Niagara falls lies on the borders of Canada and the US. Major cities around the national tourist attraction that you can visit on your way to the majestic waterfall are Toronto (Canada), Chicago (US). Once you arrive and depending on which side you are, you will experience something that will remain forever in your memories. The amount of water that drops from the waterfall is brutal to the rocks at the bottom. The endless stream growls somewhere into the base of the rock. The area is also beautiful at night as beautiful colored lights usually light it. There was a dare-davil not very long ago that attempted to walk over a string above the falls. His attempt was successful!

There is an amazing variety of wines that you can taste while experience the good side of the life in Niagara. Also there is a boat that takes visitors very close to the falling waters. Another attraction from the Canadian side is to walk behind the waterfall and see the water through a tunnel. Whatever you decide to do, feel free to share it with everyone! This will motivate others that are would like to add this adventure to their life goals. Add this to your wonderwall (bucketlist) of things that you want to achieve; you never know how life would surprise you in the future.

Here is something that is really interesting – the ratio between three and four leaf clover is about 1:10,000 so it isn’t very easy to find the right one. Just so you know the amount of extra leaves adds to the extra luck that you get. So far a gigantic 18-leaf clover holds the record. Can you imagine how lucky that charm is? So if you find a clover with more than 4 leaves, make sure to share them with everyone. It will motivate the rest of us and hopefully we, too, can find our own lucky clovers. Let the hunt begin.

If you don’t know what twitter is, here is a quick summary – Twitter is a social platform that offers users the feature to send short messages called tweets. These tweets are strictly 150 characters. You get people to follow you, and you start following people too. Once you tweet something everyone that is in your network can see it, but not only that, the keywords (referred to as hash tags) that you use can be searched and people that you don’t know can read your short messages.
Now that you know what twitter is, you can focus on the actual challenge. At twitter there is a featured called retweet. What this means is that everyone that likes your tweet can copy/paste it from their account. Kind of referencing you with a click of a button because you are a smart person who tweets cool stuff. People retweet their friends’ tweets all the time, but the challenge here is to find someone who is really important to you and ask him to retweet your message. Why not send him this fortunenote too. Make a list of people that are famous, and try to get their attention. Include them in your tweet by using the “@” symbol. Remember that in order to privately message others you need to be friends with them.

A great idea for an unusual challenge is to visit the Sahara Desert. It is one of the ultimate experiences when it comes to nature. Its simplicity and minimalism is what makes people forget everything about their daily life in the civilization. Totally secluded from everything that is known to men it offers a contemplative environment, perfect for meditation and self-discovery. To visit Sahara you have to travel to Africa. There are usually guided tours where you are riding off-road 4x4 trucks down the sandy dunes. If you are lucky you might see a mirage! You will also notice that the sand is orange, like the setting sun that turns the warmth of the day into a harsh cold environment. Definitely take some sand for good luck and to show it to your friends. Remember to get well dressed if you are planning on staying over the night, as it tends to get very cold. Caution should be taken with scorpions, snakes and other poisonous creatures. If travelling to Sahara is not an option and if, for some reason, there is a desert closer to you, make sure that you pay it a visit. This challenge will remain forever in your heart and on your wall of life goals.

A great achievement to add to your wonderwall is to visit Japan - probably one of the most ancient cultures! It has a lot to offer in terms of traditions and historical places. On the other hand Japan has a modern high-tech and design face that pushes these fields forward on an international scale.
From great memorials and architecture through Japanese art and into the weirdest TV shows you can imagine - Japan offers incredible experiences. It is not only the contemporary that catches the eye in Japan. Japan, known as the land of the rising sun (their flag is a red sun) is well known cultural hub in East Asia. A great challenge is to spend a night in one of the temples in Japan. This will surely take your spirits to a higher state of awareness. Another thing to consider is to rent traditional accommodation. The interiors of Japanese houses are unique to the culture. Anything from bonsai trees to fen shui – you have it. You can rent such traditional houses (called Minshukus) between $10,000-$100,000. In every way old-fashioned housing is the best way to go because everyone knows what a good ol’ hostel looks like. Be different – see Japan from a different perspective by adding a trip to the land of the rising sun to your bucketlist.

Smoking shisha is a social activity, which can be practiced if you are above the legal age for smoking. The smoking system is fairly simple to use and can be found in Turkish or Arabic cafes all over the world. It is believed that it originated in Persia and later was introduced in India. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of tobacco flavors to chose from with the most common being the apple flavor. You might want to challenge yourself to try a variety of tobaccos in order to achieve this challenge. Smoking shisha is a soothing process, which relaxes the mind and gets you into a philosophical mood.
There are some urban legends on how some people achieved this goal. Some say that Russians used vodka instead of water to get an extra kick out of it. This, we believe, is not healthy and you should be cautious if you decide to attempt such a mad experiment with your body. On the other hand we have tried to substitute the water with milk and mint. It intensified the flavor of the “king tobacco” that we decided to try.
If buying your own shisha is what you want to add to your bucketlist, keep in mind that cleaning is very important and there are many designs that you have to look into when choosing the right one.
If you are about to smoke (accomplish) the challenge with random people, make sure that you use plastic tips on the hose as to prevent (to certain extent) the transmission of bacteria. If such are not available grab the tip of the hose with your hand and smoke through a hole between your thumb and index finger.
Smoking hookah is a great and simple challenge, but keep in mind that smoking anything is harmful to the body and it is your responsibility to look after yourself.

Overall I was left with the impression that Romania is a country with a lot of history that I can hardly relate to. It is unfortunate that I haven't been to this part of Eastern Europe before as there is a lot to discover. The friendliness of the people around the cities was typical for eastern Europe, yet it was very difficult to communicate with locals. The romanian language is far from Bulgarian or English. It is hard to get around town based on the signs, so it is wise to make a plan beforehand.

Anyways it was a great trip that opened my eyes to Romania, which was a complete mystery for me. Now that I've seen some of its treasures i'm looking forwards to organizing a trip which will be dedicated to Romania and will cover more of its history and culture. This has definitely tickled my interest and has given me food for though for when I decide to come back, sometime in the future.

If you are planing a trip to Eastern Europe, definitely check out Romania as an option.

The other day in the subway, one of our team members heard a conversation between two girls. They were talking about how cool horse riding is. Apparently one of them had some experience and her story was so exciting, that our colleague took her phone number so he could arrange a team building session for all of us.
